20th December
BE Convention & AGM 2007
The Members' Day will take place on Sunday 21st January at the Royal Court Britannia Hotel, Keresley, Coventry. After coffee at 9.30 a.m. the morning kicks off with a welcome from our Chief Executive followed by the opening of the AGM with the opportunity to ask any questions on the three proposed resolutions. Mike Etherington-Smith will then give a short presentation on his new Sport Committee and their plans for taking the sport forward including the four Regional Directors' portfolios. BEF Chairman Hugh Thomas will also present the plans for the equestrian site at Greenwich Park for London 2012. After a short break for final AGM voting, we'll then have a round up of the BE Awards before lunch at 12.30 p.m.
The afternoon will be "classroom" sessions with a variety of speakers - whatever your role in the sport there will be something for you! Psychology from the Competitor and Official Viewpoint, Farriery and Gait Analysis, Ground Conditions - preparation, equine physiology and riding, Bitting, Cross Country Courses - from an idea to reality and a TRL Safety Update are just some of the topics on offer. The day is open to anyone at a cost of just £20.00 which includes a hot lunch. Application forms are available to download from the BE website www.britisheventing.com/downloads.html
Voting - you can vote for Resolutions 2, 3 & 4 by two methods; either in person on the day or by proxy.
BE Board Elections
There are three ways to vote on Resolution 1 (Election of 3 Board Directors); in person on Sunday 21st January, using the postal voting form (sent with the Jan/Feb 07 British Eventing Magazine), and for the first time, on line. Click here www.britisheventing.com/vote.html to vote now - you will require your BE Membership number and password (contact the office if you have forgotten yours!) to gain access. You will be able to read short biographies on each candidate before voting - each member will be able to vote once for up to three candidates (you will not be able to vote separately for up to three candidates - all your votes must be cast on your first visit).
Sadly Keith Lovelock has withdrawn his nomination as off today. If you decide to vote by post, please DO NOT vote for him as that vote will be invalid, your other two votes however will remain valid.
If you have any questions regarding the day or voting, give British Eventing a call on 02476 698856.
